EVER felt that you were capable of musical masterpieces if only you'd had the training?

Now you can whistle or hum a tune and your iPad will turn it into a fully blown track courtesy of Casio.

The company responsible for every 10 year old's first synthesizer in the 1990s unveiled the prototype IOS app at the Musical Instruments Fair Japan 2014 in Tokyo as reported on the Asia One website.

The app will record the melody and then, depending on what genre of music you choose, will map it into an arrangement of around three minutes. It will also display the score for you on the screen.

While a release date has not yet been given, it begs the question: is technology helping us to break down barriers or is this reducing musical creation to its most basic and crass form?
